I wanted a case for my tripod, but couldn't justify spending upwards of a hundred bucks. After searching for a few weeks, I came across this for about 25 dollars, including shipping:

It's a bag designed to carry mic stands. It's plenty big enough (I have Bogen 3246 sticks, a leveller, and a 503 head), very rugged, and well padded. I was afraid I would be disappointed when it was delivered, thinking it would be flimsy, or not well padded. I was happily surprised. And considering it costs less than what Bogen charges for just the strap for one of their bags:
