I'm having configuration problems with the Inertia LTM 6000c transcoder which connects our Final Cut Pro HD MAC with our DVCPro deck.... I thank you in advance for tips and advice.... Jeff

Encountering playback and capture problems. We're using a LTM-6000c transcoder, Mac G5 OS X version 10.3.6, Final Cut Pro HD. Our deck is PANASONIC DVCPro AJD640. Component analog connection to Deck, Firewire to MAC

Issue #1 NTSC Monitor image
Playback problems on the NTSC monitor– image develops blocky out-of-phase looking spots and video signal appears unstable – getting wavy, squiggly lines along edges.
Also, getting dropped timecode message in FCP.
Following suggestion to change Inertia’s OS setting from VTR to Windows XP/98 didn’t work.

Issue #2 in FCP
Log and Capture

( 1 ) Log and Capture… Capture “now” captures one clip. When I go to capture “now” next clip, it won’t work, I get the message: “Capture now has reached the end of tape. All existing footage between the point where you started the capture and the end of the tape was captured successfully.” To fix the problem, I must close and reopen the Log and Capture window.

( 2 ) REMOTE PROBLEMS .. Remote control problems in the Log and Capture window. The FF and Rewind and shuttle buttons function. The play and stop buttons do not function. It reads timecode, I can set In and Out points. When I click on the “Capture Clip” , the tape only cues and will not record the clip. Connecting a 9-pin (male) on the deck (DVCPro AJ D 640) to Inertia’s RS422 connector (male)

FYI
Here's what we're doing.... the engineer suggested we install an Adaptec Fireconnect card. Laird strongly recommends that all their
transcoders have an Adaptec 3 Port Fireconnect 4300 Firewire Card when
using them a MAC. For some reason Mac's will not fully recognize a
non-Mac DV device without that card.
Hoping this solves the problem.
