Industrial Light and Magic - End of an Era

[Paul F]

No, ILM isn't gone. But perhaps the most groundbreaking special effects stage is. The former ILM studio in San Rafael and the stage that filmed some of the most iconic moments in film is closing. The writer and actor strikes were the last straw. Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, The Hunt for Red October, Ghost, Godfather III, the list goes on.... oh, and let's not forget Howard the Duck or Spaceballs. Anyway, an auction is going on now to get rid of what remains. I dropped by to look around one last time and see if there was anything worth bidding on. Meh.
