Indoor Pool shoot...

I am not sure if this has been talked about or not, but how do you get away with shooting in something with high humidity like an indoor pool? I recently had to shoot something for the News that was an indoor swim meet and I shot a race then took the camera outside of the pool area until the next race then back in there...I did this 3 or 4 times back and forth until I got enough footage. I did this so my lens wouldn't fog up from the condensation. Are there any tips for this kind of shooting? I am guessing it would have to be sort of like how I did it in a way. Shoot what you need quick then get out of there! There are times when it can be very humid outside....any tips?
