indiSLIDERpro review??

Looks like a 24" dolly with no track to lay, but the write up is unclear. Maybe some sample video would clear up as to what it's function is. The Focuspro looks pretty good as well.

There's a bunch of them out there, but none at that pricepoint.

The slider has become quite common instead of a Mitchell offset plate. Where you're kinda stuck with the offset you choose on a bespoke offset plate, the slider allows you to have a constantly variable offset from the primary mount.

Even the "RO" offsets, which can only cantilever so far anyway, don't give you the flexibility of a slider. Also, a slider can do something no offset can do - move the camera smoothly perpendicular to the dolly track during filming.

Thanks all for the info.

I haven't been able to find anyone that has used the indiSLIDERpro. It looks interesting but I was just hoping to get some personal insight before purchasing.

I HAVE SEEN IT, USED IT, PHOTOGRAPHED IT AND PUT AN SDX900 ON IT. iT'S REALLY SMOOTH. OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS COST 3-5 GRAND. YOU DO NEED A DECENT TRIPOD TO USE IT WELL.
I LIKE THE IDEA OF USING IT FOR MACRO WORK, AND EXTREME CLOSEUP STUFF. HOPEFULLY, SOMEDAY, HE'LL MAKE A 5FT VERSION.
TIM IS GOOD PEOPLE, TRUSTWORTHY,HONEST AND QUITE A TALKER...LOL

That's the understatement of the year.

:love4: Ya Tim!

No, it's a hybridization of an offset and a dolly. Better for offset, and pretty handy as a dolly.

Think about reveals from behind a wall or other foreground object. These types of work are made much easier with a slider.

Ok. I have been using this thing in the background to the left for that same idea.

Thats exactly what it is. I love that thing. You can pop the home made rails off the light stands and stick it between chairs, tables, or just lay it on a table.

I've used Panther sliders for 35mm shoots and found them to be infinitely useful, especially when using longer lenses. You don't have to worry about bumpy skate wheels or overshooting minute marks.

I'll be using the IndiSlider on a feature shoot with the Letus starting next week. I also spoke with Tim, and am encouraged by his knowledge of common aggravations caused by camera accessories, and am looking forward to using his products.
