just wondering if anyone experienced with the indislider or t-slide has anything to say about its noise / silence when using it during dialogue scenes? does it make noise that gets picked up by the mic or is it a non-issue?
indie slider = no noise. if noise is a problem squirt it with lens cleaner.
but odd that you'd be using it with an on camera mic anyway, I mean is the subject your shooting slowly sliding to the left or right or back and forth?
if you're using an on camera mic you'd likely be better off panning than sliding because the mic'd stay pointed at the subject
EDIT: I assumed you were using an on camera mic since the slider is mounted on the tripod. It's so quiet, no way it's picked up by anything else, and probably not even an on camera mic.
no, not really planning to use it with an on-camera mic, except possibly for some sort of random documentary situation in the future
i was thinking more of a boom mic situation but with the camera not necessarily so far away from the mic as to guarantee that any operation noise would be negligible
If it's dirty you'd have to put your ear next to it and ask everyone to be quiet to maybe here a sort of sword and sheath sound.
But not for a boom or lav, no way. And if there is any noise clean it with lens cleaner and it will be silent like it usually is. As quiet as a well working dolly and much quieter than a dolly that's giving you problems, so never as loud as I've heard a dolly get in otherwords.
I'm sure the T slider can boast the same, but have no experience with it. Sound is really not an issue in my experience.
would be great if as many people had the t-slide as the indislider for some empirical numbers, i sure know that the extra 2 feet is a selling point for me
i was also wondering if there is much or any footage out there where an indislider or t-slide was used and the camera was tilted or panned at the same time. i've seen a fair bit of "static" slides but i would like to know if these more complex moves are a realistic option
I was thinking about purchase a new dolly system. I currently have a homemade doorway dolly with pvc, but want something a little more portable. What is the best dolly system under 2K?
