anyone using this with a dslr?

Do you need special rails?

My india made rails I bought for my HV40 don't seem to work right with it.

There's no instructions so I have no idea how to set it up
 
What rail system are you using?
I think the problem is with your rails. Standard rods are either 15mm or 19mm (19mm only being used on larger film cameras). Measure them so that they have a diameter of 15mm and a distance 60mm from each other. If this is incorrect you need new rods I'm afraid.

Can you take a picture to show us the problem?
 
What is off? Could you be more specific? Again, some pictures would greatly help.
