Indie Fund Raising Website

I hate to post, but wasn't there a website that you could put your indie idea on and people, if they liked it, would give donations to your cause. But they give you a timelimit to reach the proposed amount. Indie's could say I'm making at 15 minute short, to be shot in January. We're looking for donations. any donation over $50 we'll send you a T-shirt and a copy of the movie, etc.

I've searched all over dvx, google and yahoo and I can't find the thread with the website, but I know I went out and studied it. I know of a project that might work for the way the website was designed.

Anybody know the website?

Hi,

Note about kickstart
if you try to get $1000 and you are short $10 by deadline all the money is taken back to "sponsors"

indiegogo - money goes right away to your paypal account - dosen't matter if you meet deadline or not - so you can move faster with your production

for less stress use indiegogo :)

another note about kickstarter, the all or nothing design is great for revealing whether people truly want to see what you're planning to make.

and an interesting statistic is that about 90% of campaigns that reach the "25% Funded" mark are likely to meet their full goal. but know that kickstarter is not just making one pitch video and letting it go to see what happens. It is a massive time and resource commitment if you want it to be successful for you. Research the projects that have done well and you will see the creators were providing constant, almost daily updates, blog posts and videos to keep the campaign fresh and alive for the duration.

and if your campaign fails, give serious consideration to the notion that perhaps you haven't proposed something people want to see and begin searching for one that excites and engages people enough to act by donating to it for a few perks (dvd, special thanks credit, etc).
