indie follow focus with redrock?

I have a redrock with a micro X on an HVX200a with nikon lenses. Will the indiesystem follow focus work with my current setup? and which one do you recommend?

A follow focus has nothing to do with your adapter or camera, only your lenses. As long as they're slr lenses anything will work. Out of the currently shipping options thought the rr one seems the most popular, followed by the sgpro unit.

thats what I thought. Is the indie focus a good buy? I dont really want to invest that much in a tool like a follow focus. It seems like they all do the job.

the indie focus does a fantastic job at a great price. I have never tested the redrock in comparison but there is nothing my indifocus has not been able to pull off. Little to no play at all is another fantastic spec about the indifocus.

Just so you know, we released a new improved drive gear for the follow focus that includes improved metal inserts and "D" gear for improved durability. M2 customers get a free 4th gear with our Indie Bundle.

We are also about to release a reversing gear as well, which is an add-on accessory to the redrock microFollowFocus, if that strikes your fancy. If you haven't already, you may want to check out freshdv and what they say about the redrock microFF here http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/freshdv/story/freshdv_follow_focus_system_reviews/

Cheers

I have the Indifocus. I wouldn't mind upgrading to the Redrock, but the Indifocus hasn't done me wrong yet.

One note, though, is that the Indifocus lens gears are not the typical 0.8 pitch that is the cinema lens standard. So long as you don't mix the Indifocus gears with another follow focus, you'll be fine.

well I dont use it 4 days a week thats why I am only concerned about pulling accurate focus in a way that doesnt make the shot vibrate from the AC's hands on the lens.

i'd pass on the indi and go with SGpro or RR. The others are better quality and build and are industry standard. The second you need .8 mod gearing or different rings, you'll wish the indi was never considered. I think most of the people that accept the indi are those that have never seen or used the SG or RR models because they're opinions would be drastically different IMO.
