Indiana Jones 4

I don't want to buy a new Indiana box set. Therefore, I hate this film before it even begins production.

i hope its as good as the others. it probably will be but you never know. i love the other 3 greatly and i hope this measures up

ya...

There will be the first DVD release - It will be one disk with 20 minutes of bonus...

THEN there will be a two disk set with all the bells and whistles...

THEN there will be the 4 movies in a basic set...

Finally after you spent $300 on DVDs a full blown, feature rich edition...

The usual cash grab... :thumbdown

Raiders is epic; nominated for Best Picture that year.

Doom is fun but insultiung when Short Round starts kicking the Thuggies asses.

Crusade if horrible; Marcus is an idiot in it, it's one big joke.

Let's hope they bring it back to it;s roots. If not, it will suck.

I have nothing against the sequels, but Raiders does shine out from the rest. If I had to choose only one movie to watch for the rest of my life it would be Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I'm kinda iffy on a 4th installment though. Ep 1, 2 and 3 have made me a little gunshy whenever I hear the name Lucas.

Well; the problem is that everythigns a big joke not to mention Star Wars is ruined.

Suddenly; Indy is a little nancy, Marcus is incompetent, the NAZI's are bufoons.....

If they would just take it serious for 5 minutes

Serious?

Raiders was the singular film that made me want to make films. It was nominated for like 8 Academy Wards including best picture? The bar was raised pretty high for me.

Raiders is an outstanding film. One of my favorites of all time. I never get tired of watching it. I can even forgive no one bothering to explain how Indy managed to hitch a ride on the sub all the way to the island. Does it matter? Nope. It was cool.

The other two were OK. I fear for a fourth. But Lucas isn't directing, so there is a glimmer of hope. He can produce all he wants. I feel that's something he excels at. Plus I like that he's a mini-studio in his own right. He can make what he wants. A geeky 400-lb gorilla. Just no more directing. It's not his bag.

What was the tittle of the 3rd film? Oh yeah... LAST Cruisade.

Let's keep it that way.

Serious. Crusade is just so damn fun, albeit silly at times. And the scale is much bigger...And the opening sequence and following transition is great... And Connery... There is just so much packed into, I never get tired of watching it.
Of course, Raiders is more realistic, more serious and no sequels will ever compare for it's, simply put, a masterpiece of a film. But don't be too hard on the other two

I can see both sides of the Crusade argument. Personally, the type of humor that they used never bothered me, and there were some great moments.

Elsa - What that?
Indy - The Ark of the Covenant.
Elsa - Are you sure?
Indy - Pretty sure.

Great stuff. But at the same time it was definintely more of a romp than a serious film.

Mojo, I agree that with Lucas not directing there's hope, but the article that Kai posted said he was rewriting some of the script. Yikes!

Ya, me too. Got dragged to it as a kid thinking "I don't want to see a movie about religious artifacts"

Don't think I blinked or closed my mouth for 3 days!
Stunning

Same here man... Raiders is everything that you go to the movies to see. On the flip side, I enjoy Temple of Doom and Last Crusade... but nothing compares to the original really. Here's hoping Spielberg & Lucas don't leave us all saying "WTPP?!??!"

I would be worried, except that they're going to do it the old fashioned way with minimal CGI and with Spielberg at the helm I'm pretty sure another indy wouldn't suck.

is everyone forgetting that Ford is 63 years old? I love the movies and I was very excited to hear about another one being made, but I remember hearing rumors about 5 years ago or more, before he hit the big 60. Dont think Im being hard on Ford, because he is my favorite actor, I just think they waited too long to make this one.

As for the trilogy my favorite was always Last Crusade. I like Raiders alot but for some reason I watched crusade about 10 times more for some reason.. maybe that was just because we had crusade on vhs and our copy of raiders was recorded on beta. Temple of Doom never interested me. I only watched that one like 3 or 4 times. ah Beta.. Our beta machine worked for years and years and still does while we have gone through like 4 or 5 VCR's.
