Increased frame rate

When I increase frame rate for a speed shot or slow down frame rate for slow motion, I get a blurred effect. I want the footage to come through smooth. How do I fix this???

Without knowing more . . .

You can try disabling motion blur.

However, this is more than likely a footage issue. You probably have footage which was shot with a slower shutter speed, so it has natural blur within itself, and it's exacerbated by the change in speed. You could also be dealing with interlace artifacting, which would also be exacerbated by speed changes.

You might also be trying to use interlaced footage on a progressive timeline, which will lower quality.

Try disabling recompress, and if you're on a progressive timeline, choose "interpolate fields" as your deinterlace method.

Try to provide as much detail about your footage and your project settings as possible.

It's definitely not the footage. When I first began working with this footage, it was fine. It's a technical issue. I shot in 24p Advanced, and am working on a 23.97 timeline. How do I disable motion blur?

Thanks.

This wouldn't help much at this point, but it's recommended that slow-motion footage ought better
be done from 30p or 60i footage since there are more motion samples to work with.

That's something I learned on this board.

Still not working. I disabled motion blur.... I filmed in 24p and I'm using 23.97 timeline. Is this a problem? I remember at one point I wasn't having this issue, but now I can't get rid of the blur. Any more suggestions???

If I remember right motion blur is off by defualt.
Try right clicking on clip and disable resample in properties.

Clicking on the clip and disabling resample in properties worked!!! Thanks so much!!! This is the effect I wanted.

Thanks again,

Jeff
