Hmm, I wasn't expecting the price to go up. I wonder why they made it higher.
A few weeks the price and BH went down to 3399. It surprises me that they pushed up the price.
EVS had to raise the price because we were losing so much money on any order that doesn't include accessories. As you guys know, we are a no-pressure establishment, customer gets exactly what he/she wants, no upsells. Except when I mother my customers and really advise them to buy a UV filter (It's sooo important not to scratch the lens...) Also, you know that we make money to survive based on a customer's desire to come back for accessories (Batteries, tape tripods, etc.) not on the camera sale. At the standard price, we were losing $20 per order. We figured that now that Panny has the $300 rebate, we could afford to raise the price a little to compensate for the loss, and the customer still saves $300, so everyone wins. So now we make $30 profit per camera sale ;D I asked the management to allow me to have a lower DVXuser price, and they went for it. Also, DVxusers get between 1-5% better prices on every accessory, 50+ price on any quantity DV tape, 15% off rental prices, cost on shipping, a song and dance number, and a partridge in a.... Okay I'll stop there ;D And yes, my parents had children that lived! All their combined arses belong to the Corps! ;D
If it means paying $100 (even though it's about $200 less than the original price with the rebate)
to save EVS, and keep Rush employed, then I'm all for it
