Incorrect Aspect Ratio for Exported files

I've been trying to export a 720p video file as something comparable to a DVCAM PAL file. These files are for an editor with FCP.

No matter what I do the ratio comes out wrong, looking like 4:3.

I'm using Premiere Pro CS5 and my export settings are
Format: Quicktime
Preset: PAL DV Widescreen
Video Codec: DV25 PAL
Aspect: D1/DV PAL Widescreen 16:9

Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Richy

What software are you using to validate your deliverable? It's possible that your software is ignoring the PAR of the file.

Also, does premiere Pro see the proper AR of the original file you are trying to crunch?

Are you trying to do an NTSC to PAL conversion? I'm not sure how well that works in Premiere Pro.

I know that you'll have an incorrect color space if you are trying to do HD to SD conversion in CS4 or earlier. If this is for a paying client you might want to seek a post house or a professional encoder to make sure your deliverable is correct. There are so many things that can go wrong with an HD NTSC to PAL SD converstion if not done properly.

It is exporting correctly, but your player is simply unable to interpret the correct PAR. FCP will be able to correctly interpret it.

For a detailed explanation see here.

Cheers for the replies!

That was pretty much it. Quicktime played it as 4:3, but once it was dropped into a FCP timeline it reverted to 16:9.
I should have just tried that before messing about with different export methods for hours.
