Inception Sound Design

[mmzgully]

There is a very interesting video about the approach to sound design in Inception on Vimeo. Enjoy! I don't know how to imbed it so I've just copied the link below.

Thanks for the link. That was really good info.

To embed you hit the blue vimeo button, then paste the number (13396749) into the code.

Chadfish,
I got "" when I hit the icon. Where exactly do I put the number in that code?

[mmzgully]

Sorry, I'm a posting newbie. I didn't get the "", but it just didn't show the "vimeo" words. Anyway, where do I put that number?

[Richard Crowley]

What "" are you talking about? When I click the blue V button (Vimeo), I get a pair of tags that say VIMEO inside square brackets. You put the vimeo number between the tags.

Thanks for the link!

It's always lovely to see all of the Pro Tools projects in action. Funny how pretty much every behind the scenes example the sound designers use has some kind of animal sound mixed in

I did feel that one of Inception's few weak points was the difficulty in telling what Ken Watanabe was saying - whether it was Nolan's idea and the re-recording mixer followed along, or whether it was just her bad taste just to mix him too low, I don't know.

So - hmm, Inception for best sound editing but not sound mixing?

PS - Aww! they used our teaser title graphic! BTW is anyone else bugged by the crossfade where the buildings disappear?

If you copy the number off the video first, then hit the "V" button in your message, the courser is blinking right where it should be, then you just paste and the number goes where it should.
