I just saw this late last night and thought what a great adventure. These two guys from New York decided to retrace the footsteps of Marco Polo and planned for a year. I believe it took that long to get visas and travel passes thru Turkey and Afganastan and Pakastand and Iraq and Iran and China and India and Tibet and all the same places Polo went on his trip. There trip was 499 days of wonder and trial and not knowing if they were going to get shot or what. This was a true adventure for the modern man. They found most of the things to be the same as when Marco Polo was there. The people out in the country side are pretty much the same as then. It was on PBS at 4 AM but its worth watching it. They did this back in 1994 and 1995.
Maybe its been out for a while but I had never seen it before and want to watch it again. I thought for you that haven't seen it, its worth checking out.
Good luck
