In need of a graphic animator for logos

I'm confused as to where this is supposed to go in the forum, but I'll associate it with AE since it is a visual graphic art.

ANYWAYS..

I am in need of someone who can make animated logos. The kind of logos you see before a film of the company name [Dreamworks, Lucasfilm ltd, Paramount, Imagine Entertainment etc]. I'm looking for someone who can pull off a visual art for our filming company. It doesn't have to be fancy, but something that catches the viewers eye that thinks, "Wow, these guys have a professional logo" -or something to that extent.

I wish I could do this, but unfortunetly I cannot since I lack the skills in After Effects, Combustion, and Lightwave 3D.

I need this, real bad. So if anyone has any spare time and would like to help a fellow filmmaker out, please PM or email me.

Jesse

After Effects, Combustion are not 3d softwares as Lightwave 3D

Unless you intend to rotate the logo past the point where it is clearly flat, it wouldn't make much difference. You can achieve quite a lot with 2.5D.

Hey fellas, thanks for all the PM's! As of now, I am still waiting for some responses, so I don't have any word quite yet on whom will do it.

I thank all of you for your helpful willingness.

Jesse

I think he's meaning to design a logo animation.. not the logo itself in AE.

I used AFTER EFFECTS for my registered business logo........

Oh by the way SURF why wouldnt you use after effects for a logo? My studio did and it looks almost as good as DREAMWORKS in hi res... heres some screen grabs from begining of the clip till the end..... Enjoy""""""

If you want to buy some tutorials from my company check em out on ebay australia.... my user name is adobe_video_tutorials

well, this can be done in Maya, and I think, it is lot easier to do this animation in that software. of course, you can do the compositing work in AE!

How much is Maya? If I remember correctly it's pretty steep. And the learning curve?

Maya will take a while to learn, especially if you've never done any 3D before.
They do have a free personal version you can download along with basic tutorials.

but you can use for several exercises, and it gives you more freedom. anyway, I have learned it with a Personal Learning E. and a book. it has taken a summer to learn it

tsunami is correct. Good spot Kai.

not many people know this but the tsunami plugin was used in two movies i know of.

James Camerons: Titanic
and The Fifth Element.

Its worth it if you do heaps of matte work in Photoshop because you can then animat a realistic ocean and copm in the matte.

there was another plugin for AE used in Titanic. I do not remember it's name, but it makes fire

If you're looking for a solid 3D package that integrates wonderfully with AE, look into Cinema4D studio bundle.

I had a demo, but it doesn't used the HT technologie processor, and it was too slow! :) now I use a 3d softw.'s fire effect-faster and more beautiful pic.
