RIP Jay. I had a few conversations in person and on the phone with Jay over the years,
he was a very smart man, a good writer/educator with a great sense of humor, self deprecating, and humble. He will be missed.

Jay Rose used to run the audio forum on dv.com, back when dv.com was a forum, in the early 2000s. At that time, I was one of those punk kids who annoy audio professionals by spouting things like, my 15-foot XLR-to-mini cable works just fine as an adapter, I don't see why I have to spend all this money on fancy gear.

I also own his book, Producing Great Sound, and it remains one of the oldest books I own that I still haven't read all the way through. I really want to, but the topic puts me to sleep, even with Jay's humor.

I am really sad to hear this!
