May their spirits soar in the heavens to which they aspired.

Man I remember it perfectly. I was 6... I can still see it on tv. Crazy its been that long. The world just moves too fast anymore.

I remeber do. 3rd grade. I was in love was space travel when I was a kid, and part of me still is.

Was a huge space nut (model rockets, a jacket with a NASA patch and even had the Space Shuttle flight manual). I guess all children have their first tragedy that exposes them to reality.

What's sad is that McAuliffe was supposed to be the first civilian in space. A teacher, stepping from the classroom into a rocket. It was a new idea to get people excited about space travel again. But after the accident NASA never tried again. So the first civilian in space was some rich guy paying $20 million to Russia. Very sad.

Will never forget.

Just commemorated the moment with a minute of silence at 11:39.

I was 14. I watched it happen live. It devastated me for weeks.

MAN I'LL NEVER FORGET THEIR HAPPY FACES AND THE THUMBS UP AS THEY WALKED BY THE CAMERAS. MY BROTHER AND HIS FAMILY WERE WATCHING IT LIVE. WHEN IT EXPLODED MY BROTHERS SON TUGGED AT HIS DADDY'S PANT LEG AND ASKED; DAD, IS IT SOPPOSED TO DO THAT.........AS TEARS ROLLED DOWN THE BIG MANS FACE.......... no son... as he picked him up holding on tightly sobbing..........................................................

Yeah, that really affected me. I remember them playing the clip over and over until it lost it's meaning for me.

Made me so sad.
