In-expensive tripod for shooting Snowboarding

A friend is shooting video of his daughter snowboarding, she is turning pro. He is looking for a small tripod with a fluid head, one that can be easily lugged around a mountain.

Re: In-expensive tripod for shooting Snowboarding

Amvona.com sometimes puts them on ebay. I have two of their pods and some other items. I am happy with all of it, and they excel in customer service. Lately it seems like more people are becoming aware of their auctions of good products, the bids are going higher now.
Just search for items from "amvona.com"

I've used my Bogen monopod with a tilt/swivel head. I extend the leg and slide it into the snow. This provides a stable support and allows me to rotate. You can get some smooth pans.

Plus, being a monopod with a small head it is easy to lug around.

Will be shooting this weekend (x-my fingers) up in Tahoe.

Thanx Guys,

Hans, possible rig a pan and tilt head on there somehow?

Re: In-expensive tripod for shooting Snowboarding

I use a small bogen, I believe its a 3001N legs with 3130 head, it works relatively good and is light weight..I can strap it to the side of my bag without much problem.

i would say try a bogen monopod.

you can pan tilt at will just move it around, it would travel really well.
