In cam sound interior

Shooting a short inside a 20ft by 14ft "room" the room is four walls open ceiling inside a big warehouse. Warehouse is not completely flat so i am not expecting a great echo here. I doubt i will be able to rent a decent quality hypercardioid mic for this one so i am shooting for in cam sound (boo hoo)
What is my best bet in terms of audio settings if i am recording via camera? Ch1 Ch2 Line/Mic Sensitivity?
Also if you guys had a chance to pick out the "perfect" mic for interiors what kind would it be? I was thinking of blocking out everything including the slight echo that might occur by using the hypercardioid...
Well thanks for peeking in!

Re: In cam sound interior

I would get to the location a few Hrs b4 the shoot and start playing with settings.. it all depends on the mic you use, how you use it, and how good you are...

good boom mics: cs3, Senn 416, MKH 50or 60, depending on your budget, OK mics, Me66 or ME64 with a K6 powering module, there is also a AT mic that I have never use, but some people here seem to like a lot more than the Me66..

Low Low budget, Oktava 102..

As far as the Echo, play with some Sound blankets..

hope it helps

Sound blankets are just large thick blankets which absorb sound and reduce reflection. You don't have to spend a lot on these. In fact, if you're shooting for a few days, I would rent a bunch of moving blankets from U-Haul and try those, they actually work pretty well. Audio is just like light, you have to experiment in the space to learn how to control it.

Have you considered using Lavaliere mics? They can work great in that situation but you'll need a mixer and you'll have to hide the wires or shoot wireless.
