I find myself in a situation where I need to edit a film soundtrack in Vegas that is being edited in Final Cut Pro 4.5.
I would like to be able to duplicate the timeline from FCP asis [effects are not necessary] so that the original media can be used untouched, with timing maintained throughout [audio for used takes locked to the video it's muxed with].
We have tried using Automatic Duck's free xml export for FCP which does not work - Vegas 6 simply complains about the xml created by the plugin being invalid.
I am trying to avoid having to have the editor export rendered files from FCP as I don't want the successive passes of processing this would probably incur on the audio [specifically, dither].
If anyone knows of a way to get the timeline from FCP to Vegas so I can use the original media [DVCPRO files with stereo 48k audio], we would -REALLY- appreciate the assistance. Every time something seems promising as a potential solution, we hit a brick wall.
Thank you,
d.
