importing TIF sequence from Avid

I exported a TIF sequence from Avid Xpress Pro 5.0. It's the first time I've ever tried this, so there may be something wrong with the way I exported the sequence, but I did get 69 TIF images which correspond with the 69 frames in the short clip I need worked on. I can view the TIF images no problem. Avid numbered them sequentially for me on export.

Now when I try to import this folder into After Effects, or even a single TIF file from the sequence I get the error: "the format module could not parse the file"

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers.

hmm not really sure, haven't run into that before. What's the file info when you open them in say, Photoshop? Bit depth, resolution, byte order, etc?

Krestofre, a very knowledgeable Avid dude here at DVXuser suggested that he used to export from Avid in QT Reference, but that the 4:2:2 color sampling that Avid forces out would not be compatible...or something like that. He suggested that when exporting from Avid, the TIFF sequence is more reliable in After Effects.

QT reference is one file, isn't it?
it is better to export a sequence, because it stands of severeal frames, and you can re-render some of them, or you stop the rendering, and continue it any time.
