Importing Quicktime Movies into FCP

I have recently downloaded an MPEG2 Quicktime movie. When I play it using Quicktime it looks and sounds great. When I try to drag it or import it to FCP, the video is fine but there is no audio. Any ideas/hints?
 
FCP doesn't deal with MPG sources very well - they're not 'editable.' You should try to convert it to some kind of DV MOV or an uncompressed format (like an Animation MOV) and then bring it into FCP.
 
you need to demux it first. download mpeg streamclip (free) and use that to convert it into a dv quicktime.
(or whatever qt codec you're using for your other footage.)
