Importing multiple stills into FCP?

New user with first post:

I would like to know how to import a large batch of photo stills (100-150 shots) into FCP and have it run as a DVD slideshow. Also, is there a way to attach transitions without having to manually apply a transistion to each photo?

The only info on this subject that I have found in the manuals refers to using the DVD Studio software but states that it is limited to 99 photos.

I know this task is possible since my friend had his wedding shots converted to slide show by a local photofinishing company and they told him it was done in FCP.

Yes -- Right click (control-click) in your browser window and IMPORT - Folder.

This will bring in ALL the photos. Then, select all those photos and drag them into your canvas window and you'll see an overlay come up. Use insert with transition. They'll all drop in with a 1 second cross. If you want to change the default transition you'll need to do that somehow... but I forget right now.

If you want to change the default transition:
-Click on the 'effect' tab in your browser
-Select and click the transition you want.Then right click(Or control+click)
-Select 'Set default transition
-Follow CaptainMench's instructions....;)
NOTE:When you scan your pictures, make sure you number them in order you want to(01,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,910,11...). If you want to change the 'duration' of these stills goto:
USER PREFERENCES-->EDITING--->STILL/FREEZE DURATION...Change how many seconds you want to... It takes effect on other seequnces you will be creating though...(Or quit and restart the FCP after you change the still's duration)
