Hey guys,

I need some help. I just shot some stuff on DV 24PA and when I import the footage, the reds look terrible. Huge blocks surround the image while the taped image looks clean. What is up? I'm using FCP 5.1.2.

All my setting are correct I believe. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Andrew

Standard question when you say anything looks terrible, looks terrible where precisely? Are you viewing your stuff on an external monitor that you have calibrated? Are you only viewing it on your computer monitor? Your computer monitor doesn't really tell you anything in regards to the quality, color conditions, etc of your image. It simply shows what was physically shot. To be sure about the other things you need to use an external monitor of some variety.

However, if you are using one and you're still experiencing the problems described, then yes, post a screen grab of some sorts and it might be easier to help solve your problem.

cheers.

have you rendered a small portion with quicktime and then played it back?
It might actually be fine.....
it will not look good unrendered and while you are cutting in FCP unless you have it hooked up onto an external monitor and it is running native in a correct timeline.
