importing HDV footage on a DVX100

Hi there,

Strange situation. I shot some HDV footage on a Sony Z1U at 1080i onto Mini DV tapes at 30 fps. The shoot and camera were out of town and now I need to edit on FCP and I own a DVX100. Is it possible to use my DVX as a deck to import the footage? or do I need to rent a Sony Deck to read the HDV footage. Does anyone know if there is any resolution lost with this way?

No. The DVX cannot read the HDV codec. Find someone with a sony HDV cam and it will work.

HAS to be a Sony HDV camera or deck. No two ways around it.
