Importing Files to DVD Studio Pro

If I am going to import my files into DVD studio pro from FCP what is the best file type for the best quality? What settings should I use? I am dissapointed with the quality of video after the completed DVD project. Thanks!

I usually use Compressor and have it do it (export via compressor)- you get a bit more control than DVD Studio Pro allows.

2 pass VBR, "appropriate" data rate (that's a whoooooole other thread as to what constitutes "appropriate")

You should just export the files out of FCP as Quicktime Movie Files. That should maintain the quality. Don't use Quicktime Conversion. Then import said files into DVD Studio Pro. DVD Studio Pro should do the rest.

Use Compressor with the:

MPEG-2 60min High Quality Encode
&
Dolby 2.0

Of course if your project is longer than 60 minutes, you'll have to use 90 minutes or 120 minutes.

Here'e the info from the quality tab of the inspector. This is just a preset but works well. I could take a while to do the compression, though. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
