Hey guys... i just downloaded the trial version of Vegas and I like it so far. I tried to import my EDL (from premiere into Vegas) and it brought in all the clips but the cuts are off. infact, they arent even close to what I made in Premiere. Anyone have any insight into this cuz I'm not sure what's wrong.
Thanks!

EDLs are generally not compatible between applications. They are for off-line editing, then exporting for on-line (final cut), using the same application. I may be mistaken, but I think you can't import/import EDLs between Premiere and Avid, either.

It may be the lightweight implementation of EDL in Vegas. As it is, EDL is almost obsolete. Vegas 6 will have AAF import and export and AAF is the new standard for transferring edit timelines between applications. The next generation of editors and compositors will all likely have AAF compatability and it's going to make the interchange process *a lot* easier.

There you go, looks like somebody knows what he's talking about!

Good info, Barry!

Premiere Pro 1.5 has AAF export. When Vegas 6 drops... I'll try it. Would I need to disable all video effects before exporting the AAF from Premiere Pro 1.5?
