I am experiencing difficultiy finding out how to import clips logged and captured on Premiere Pro into FCP. I have found methods on this forum and others that do not appear to work for me and i was wondering if anyone might be able to help?
I have 70 odd clips that i captured on my PC whlist waiting for my Mac to arrive as i was told that FCP imports AVI's no problem. Many forums say that it should be possible to at least drop them in before having to play around with them, but when i try to load them into the bin i get a message saying
'File Error: 1 file(s) recognized. 0 access deinied, 1 unknown'
(when testing import on 1 file)
I have read elsewhere about using Compressor to convert the clips but i get similar probelems on that, with the file not being recognised.
I am aware there are many different codecs employed under the AVI banner and can only guess that the kind used is native to Premiere Pro. The files play on quicktime fine.
if it helps, I captured in PAL, 25 frames/sec and these are the properties of the file when i bring it up in quicktime player:
DV, 720 x 576 (768 x 576), Millions 16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 Khz
Im really stuck on this one and relly want to get editing! its very frustrating knowing that al the clips are there, and playable yet not useable on FCP!
Can anyone suggest what i might do next?
Your help would be greatly appriciated!
Cheers,
Dan
