Importing audio files to Soundtrack

trying to fix a piece of audio with halogen buzz in FCP, but when I go to file> send to>... the only option that comes up is a multitrack project (single audio file is just a ghost). Any ideas?

it was dialog recorded in mono with a shotgun mic. There are two audio tracks in the timeline, so... forgive the ignorance, but I'm not too much of a techie.
 
If you open the clip into the Viewer, does it show in the tabs two mono tracks, or one Stereo track? This is the tabs in the Viewer.
 
You'll have to export as a multitrack project. Then, when you're done in STP with that, save it as an AIFF and import that back into FCP. For a variety of reasons at this point in time, STP sees two mono tracks as Multitrack, not as a single sound file. When saving a Multitrack project, there are numerous options, so it just doesn't automatically pop up in FCP, at least not at this time.
