Importing a QT Sorenson Codec into FCP

Last year, I shot footage for a documentary. It was shot on DVC Pro HD tape. At the time, I could only afford to rent the deck for a day, so we transferred all the footage to Beta and edited it on an Avid at a local production house where I could get free edit time. (this is a side project so budget is small, small, small.)

Now I have my own edit suite up and running with enough storage that I was able to rent the deck again for a day and ingest everything into FCP. So I need to recreate the project (if we had planned ahead this would have been done in a much simpler way, but alas, hindsight is 20/20.) The timecode on the beta tapes does not match the timecode on the DVCProHD tapes so an EDL from Avid won't work.

What I have done is just export a lo-res version of the timeline as a QT movie with Sorenson compression. I thought I would import that into FCP and use it as a reference to line up all the clips. But FCP says this is a file format that is doesn't recognize.

Thoughts on how to deal with this? How can I get this little movie into FCP to use as a reference.

Thanks
