IMPORTANT for all MBP Users

I might just be the only person that Is not experiencing this. Though I did very little editing on this, so I might have over looked it. I edit on a desktop.
 
Does it look like this... only moving across the screen???

I use a macPro and I get it randomly.

Tearing Issue - Leopard

At least for me the tearing seems to be somewhat random but increased when there are lots of cuts in the video. Most of the times when it tears, it tears at several lines of the screen in vertical fashion. But you can see it in any video, even on the screen saver.

I haven't heard of tearing on the Mac Pro. That is interesting.


So has anyone tried leopard with this issue?

I wonder if Leopard will resolve this.
 
I was able to resolve MY issue with a good cleaning of the inside of my computer. Seemed it was a heat issue with the graphics card. Blew that sucker out and no problems since.

Wow, wouldn't that be interesting if that's been the issue since the beginning?
Anyone else try this?
 
looks like they solved the problem in Leopard. Bought a new MBP today (bought one and retuned it 2 moths ago because of the video tearing) and everything looks fine so far :)
 
There is a new MacBook Pro software update which apparently addresses 'graphics stability' for 2.2 and 2.4 models.

Its ONLY for 10.4.9 / 10.4.10 based systems, NOT 10.5, which suggests what other's have been saying that this was fixed in the Leopard release. This may be good news for those of you sticking with Tiger for now.
