import .m2v into FCP, edit, output lossless?

hi,

i need to edit an old piece i did.

i have the old .m2v that compressor kicked out for me, but not the original FCP files.

can i bring the m2v into FCP, edit it (just cuts and new audio) and export it without double-compressing it (i need to put it back into a dvd)?

if so, please let me know how...

I haven't tried it.

Can you drag it to the timeline? Can you then Export, and un-check "recompress all frames"?

Give it a shot...
