Import .m2t files

I captured my footage from Canon XH A1 with HDV Split. I was having problems with the vegas capture utility. In the past I would capture with HDV Split, import to Vegas timeline and render to a lossless codec then re-import to Vegas for editing.

However, for some reason this time when I import .m2t files into Vegas I get an error message that says an exception has occurred and I click Ok and the program shut downs. Any thoughts? Thanks

Vegas doesn't always like hdvsplit files, that's a widely known fact.

vegas doesn't like m2t, and it doesn't matter where it comes from

This is not true. My m2t captured from Vegas is stable.
