Real easy questions everybody.

I just got my new DVX - WOOHOOOOO! - Anyway, just wanted to know when importing footage shot in 24p do I need to adjust any preferences in Vegas 5, and when I render to let's say an mpg2 what template do I choose?

The look I want is as close to film as possible.

Also I heard that rendering quality being set to Best is only useful when the project contains pictures, otherwise Good is fine, that true?

I'm such a noob, but thank God for this forum.
 
capturing doesn't matter. you don't have to change any settings for capture. When rendering to Mpeg2, choose the template that says 24p.
 
If you use DVD architect (which i'd suggest) you can just select the 24p pulldown for DVD architect in the MPEG2 rendering options.... it makes things quite simple. I had a terrible time trying to get my disc to be progressive or at 23.976 FPS with any other DVD authorizing tool.
