iMovie - Exporting

So, at we are doing a project, and one of our challenges is to edit everything on a free software (iMovie) to test our true skills.

I've used iMovie probably once or twice. I don't like it at all.

So, the only question I have is regarding exporting from iMovie onto a DVD.
I will be shooting a film in 1080p, so I want the best quality on the DVD.
How do I export it?

- Watching how they did it last semester, they didn't know, and because of that the quality was crap.

I bet you may have found the solution to this, but in case not. The "Share" option is on the top menu bar. You have to share the project to your hard drive as an "HD" project with it's own name. Then use iDVD to burn your copy with a nice cover menu if you want.

you have to send it quick time 1st quick time movie and set from there that is it

when I sent it to iDVD it did not come out as good quality as it was before.
Is there some settings or anything I need to adjust that I am not seeing?
*Its not when I export from iMovie, its when I get it onto iDVD that it looses its quality.

There is also a problem when I import to iMovie. The image becomes darker. On my camera is brighter, and when I import on my pc. But, when it goes on the mac and iMovie, its darker. Especially my dark scenes, it very difficult to see, when its not supposed to.
