Hi there, I hope someone can answer my question.
I'm using Imovie09 "one last time"... sure... (trying to wean myself to FC7). I'm trying to make a few scenes where my subject being interviewed is shown, then I transition into some B roll. The audio from the interview carries into the B roll. Basic stuff for 99 percent of everyone else I'm sure, but it's giving me fits getting the audio synced up. Here's how I'm doing it, please give me advice if there is a better way.
I'm inserting the basic interview footage. I'm then inserting the basic interview footage, audio only, as a separate audio track. I mute the video clip. I chop away at the video interview track to then transition into and out of B roll and then finally back to an interview scene again.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how I can show both audio graphs of the video interview and audio only interview in "Precision Editor"... where I can visually align the audio only to the muted video interview scenes. I can just get one track, the video, to show the audio graph. My progress is slow and inaccurate doing it the way I'm doing it now (by ear, in playback). If I could "see" both audio graphs I could plug and play, but I can't seem to work it out like I seem to think I should be able to.
