imdbpro.com -- amazing

I just signed up for the 14 day free trial, looks to be well worth the $99/year. Amazingly easy to get movie/actor/director/prodco contact and other info, drill or hyperdrill to related contact info, etc. This is a no-brainer. I am finding it much more useful than ddp at least for what I am looking for, but ddp has its uses too for screenplays sold, etc.

Yeah, it's pretty damn good. Easy to navigate. Keep in mind that it's also one of the few major websites going since the mid nineties, so they've had a while to build up a base and make it just right. Although from what I understand the contact information gets neglected sometimes and goes out of date, that's really to be expected.

Really? I have never thought of giving it a shot (now that I think about it, Idk why?!), but I'll check it out. I'm not sure how I'd use the contact information, though. Mostly I just want to get an agent or a manager so I'm wondering how it could be used in that way. Just cold-emailing and/or calling with the contact info on there? Have you or anyone you know of done this or plan on doing it?

You get their agent or manager's contact info.

Strike that. You get their agency's contact info. Getting to their agent is not as easy as paying $99 a year. I.e., you will have to get past flunkies first. Then getting the actual agent to contact the actor regarding your project is even harder than getting to talk to the agent. It can be done, but it's not like you pay $99 a year and you can call Brad Pitt. It's still going to be incredibly hard to get to someone who can get to someone who can get to someone who can get your script in front of Brad.

Part of an overall guerilla marketing plan, as discussed on Bill Martell's CD on Guerilla Marketing yourself as a screenwriter. Although he does not mention imdbpro per se, but the contact info on imdbpro will be indispensable.

Awesome, I haven't even heard of that CD. Gonna get it now.
