Check out their help page: http://www.imdb.com/help/?adding/ detailed eligibility rules for new titles are listed on the submission form and the eligibility requirements are discussed here: http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?titleeligibility and in one sentence, they list films that are of general public interest and there's a requirement of a significant public premiere. They used to list almost any film submitted, but they have tightened up their requirements in recent years.

Thanks David.
This is Josh Ford your prior student (Modified: Cars as art in motion.) Appreciate your help once again. I am going to apply for:
Still on her keel (which I had done lighting and sound for)
and All points of the compass (which I am listed as additional cinematography [shot 1/3 of the footage used i believed] and not listed but I was the "sound man")
I THINK after looking at those rules I should be able to get at least 2 credits on IMDB for now..... well I hope haha.
