IMDB help. Where to get started as a first time Director.

Hows it going. I am directing my first film, it has over 40 speaking parts, and I told all my actors I will be paying them via Meal/ Copy/ Credit. Does credit necesarily mean IMDB or just their name in the credit roll at the end of the film.

Well, whatever I may have got myself into, I want to add my feature film onto IMDB, and give credit to all my actors, perhaps enroll them if they are not enrolled.

I myself am not enrolled on there. I am a writer/ director/ producer/ editor, etc, but I would want directing as my main role.

Where do I start? That site does not seem very straightforward to enroll and list a film worked on or completed.

Please any and all info for IMDB would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

to get your first film listed, you're probably going to need to finish it and then have one of two things... and article written about it online, or have it accepted into a film festival that prints their schedule online.

see, the key to getting your film listed is having some kind of independent third party validating its existence. my third feature, Heart of Now [imdb listing] got a listing well before preproduction because we had an article in Backstrage West about us that named the film, me, my producing partner and one of our actors. IMDb just wants to know your project is legit.

and you would start by filling out this form. but i'm telling you, if you don't provide something credible (your own "official" web site isn't good enough) under the "miscellaneous link" section of the form, you are wasting your time. it won't be approved.

btw, i checked out your web site. do you encode features for Blu-Ray? we may need to talk soon.

Max and Zak summed it up completly...Credit just means credit in the movie and you wil not get listed on IMDB unless they can confirm it's existence...ie. they must be able to find a reference to it on line perhaps some publicity or festival...If you are a first time filmmaker, the chances are they will want a confirmed screening...They do splinter everything off so once your film is on, your cast and crew get their own page automatically...

I already submitted my film, but I've just gotten some more write ups about the film, is there away I can access the information I've already filled out and update it?

Update: I found it.
