imdb credits for shorts ?

What does it take to get short screenplay credits (Written by) on imdb.com / imdbpro.com ?
I have a number of shorts, I would like to get a few produced such that they somehow end up on imdb and not as a craptastic youtube video that goes nowhere and gets no imdb credit. Any suggestions? Anybody here have any experience on this to share (ping Alex Whitmer!).

I have my IMDB credit based on a short I submitted to a fest which had as part of their 'deal' IMDB credit on acceptance for showing to the fest...

The restrictions may have been tighter in the olden days. But I think these days that a minimum ante.

I don't believe IMDB does 'unproduced' scripts... and so one would only get a credit for one's participation in a produced film, short or otherwise.

On a basic level you will need to produce the video project. You would then submit to festivals where it would get accepted. (Using withoutabox is a fast track as they either own imdb or imbd owns them). This will get the project in the database and you will be able to update the varius cast and crew. If you have a track record there are ways to get unproduced work listed but for the most part, it has to be completed and shown to have an interest by being acepted (perhaps even shown) before an audience.

For sure I am talking about produced shorts; I just am unsure if imdb requires produced shorts to win a film festival contest, or just be entered, or if the film festival must be of a certain level of quality (not sure what that would entail). For example, I wrote and produced two shorts myself that were entered into a local very small film festival-- would i be able to get those into my imdb page as Written by, etc? Didn't win or place (not to sound like a sore loser, but the local film festival only seats about 60, and films win by the number of votes they get from audience members, so if you have a sheeetload of friends that you can bring to the festival well then you can win just by having the most friends which does not take much given total seating space of sixty seats; and for whatever reason, comedy almost always wins, as there are no subgenres in the contest, just anything and everything).

My own project that I got on did not win anything (matter of fact, came in last here) but because it went through other festivals via withoutabox it was approved (mind you I had submitted to them before I went on withoutabox but once on there it seemed to have the push needed)

I think i found the answer I seek--

Looks like one can add a film to imdb, including shorts, as long as some criteria are met, and one of the main criteria as I see it is that a short film, if entered into a film festival (one way to get listed on imdb) must be such that the film festival does not enter just any film submitted.

So I need to find such a film festival, maybe even submit my shorts again going that route; and also be certain that if I sell or give away a short film script to be produced by another filmmaker (my goal actually, as I would prefer to just write feature specs at this time) that said filmmaker plans to enter their film into such a film festival.
