imagine life without it!

Yes folks....This is a concept that messes me up. Ok, so you wake up in the morning....Make coffee, turn on the computer, visit the bathroom...Back to the computer ....And it doesn't work, and for some unknown sci fi reason , it never works again! What would you do? I would snap instantly! What....back to carousing the bar's looking for my soulmate? My life is totally integrated with these incedible machines...I AM A JUNKIE! Years ago, way pre Atari...Hell, even back before the Timex Sinclair, my freinds and I would get into heated debates about what now seem like trivial concepts. Anyway, the only way these debates (And betting frenzies) could be resolved is if one of us went to the library and got the juice. Consequently, nothing was ever resolved. Today my freinds and I have the same useless debates and they are put to bed with a search on Google before anyone forgets what the hell we were talking about ( we still puff a bit). Transfering funds/paying bills....Gone! E-mail...Gone! All forms of creative digital expression...Gone! DVXuser.....Gone! Think about it, I have, and I can't fathom life without a computer.

I would just move to the other one sitting right next to it. Work on the broken one later.

Cause I know you have more than one computer.

Hell, I have 24! Not all able to edit video mind you, but surf the internet and send email they all can.

I believe in redundancy!

Is HartStudio really Yoda?!

"Many computers has HartStudio. Edit on them all he cannot - for surfing the Internet perfect they are. The processing force is strong with HartStudio."

I would be at the bookstore right now. Reading everything I could about making films, because I was never given the chance to learn so much from the people on this site.

...and because I don't want to buy the books.

So you get up and 24 out of 24 of your redundant machines won't work! Massive solar flare takes them out, or some such thing. I guess I wasn't too clear on that!

reservoir- Barry banned you TEMPORARILY. It's not cool to spawn a new login. I would suggest you wait out your ban, and come back w/ your normal nick.

reservoir, I think they can bann your IP. I hate to see people get banned but if you want to be apart of this community you got to follow rules. It's a great community to learn many things and I would hate to see you get banned permantley. I'm sure you'll get you'll get a response from the mods. Their probably busy with their real lives so just kick back awhile. So far you've behaved. Good luck with your situation. Peace!

Danny Boyle, what?

This is not about how you've acted today. It's about how you ACTED, and a mod deemed it necesary to temporarily ban you. You didn't follow that ban, and publically calling out a mod is definitely NOT the way to solve this problem.

This is not a competition. So just chill out, await contact from a mod. Then wait out your ban and re-join the group.

Unfortunately Resevoir is showing what a true whack-job he really is. I was made aware of the Temorary Banning last night; after reviewing it I agreed and supported the decision that was made. Now the way to properly handle it is to accept it and move on. Initially it was a TEMP BAN. This means goto dvinfo.net or wherever else you hang and chill. Not, publicly make an ass out of yourself nor make a mockery of a moderator or the community. Re-loggin in as a new user is fruitless and insulting. Resevoir; you could have just dealt with it but now you are super troll. Who would have known 200 posts into your 'memberage' these colors would surface.

As far as emails go; I sent you one. But who knows after your umpteen hotmail accounts it went to. It was polite and bascailly asked that you chill and we move forward.

Sigh. Too bad.

sorry Mino, back to your topic.

I can imagine what life would be like if computers didn't exist. Heck, I know if it wasn't for a computer I would still be editing with 2 VCRs! That's not the 4-head kind. But honestly, I can live survive with out a computer. You have to remember, I grew up in the jungles of Cambodia where we didn't even have running water, electricity, and a Wal-Mart. We grew up on rice, river water, crickets, and an old cow. Bring it! Shoot, I should be in the Survior show. :)

Wow...That was like a high speed car chase right through my thread, cool! Reservior, you don't have to be a fugitive man...Just pull over and take a nap and all will be cool.

That was very interesting. Well If a solar flare wiped out all my machines I would..... Go insane, like someone that just passed thru this thread.

I have always wondered what it would be like to live in the midevil times.
I would probably take some twigs and string and some wire and invent a computer. It would be powered by 4 slaves running on large hampster wheels and I would poke them with a frog gig to keep them running.

It would then equal a 4 Gig a Hurt machine! Ha!

Thats what I would do!
