Hello everyone. New guy here.
I'm capturing footage (DVX100B) from my slave (a JVC MiniDV cam) via firewire using Vegas 8. The image I get is rather pixelated and grainy.
After attempting to edit the footage I have noticed a line through the middle of the image. It is consistent but hardly noticable. It's a straight line that is slightly off color when compared to the rest of the image.
I would like to note that the line is not seen on either the DVX when shooting, the JVC during playback or when viewing the captured footage.
So, I'm asking if anyone has had similar issues/is there a solution? Not only to the line issue but the quality as well.
It could be that I'm entirely new to Vegas and still trying to learn basics. I just don't want to settle for either a poor image or a damaged one.
I've seen the quality of work that can come from the DVX and so far what I have on my PC is nowhere near the work I have seen (some of said work from projects and music videos that I have worked on with fellow videographers and filmmakers).
