iMac Render Farm

Hey all just wondering,
We have 6 iMacs in my film class, but at this time I am only using one as I am editing all the projects together. Is there a way to use the other 5 iMacs to my advantage such to help me render? Or would this be impractical if not impossible?

What's your network? If it's ethernet, it'll probably take longer to copy the files across the network than to do the compression. But Compressor does allow you to submit to a cluster- read up on clusters and Qmaster.
