Guys i am a bit ignorant towards macs. Is it possible to upgrade them? I see they have a 64mb Nvidia card in there would i be able to stick mine in there? What about harddrive?
Ram? Are macs flexible in that area or what the hell am i talking about?

Power Mac are but iMacs are usually aimed toward the lowend user. They're cheaper but not as upgradeable. In about three years you'll toss it or sell it. But iMacs are very powerful and extremely popular. And they can do all the stuff you need to do including video editing with the latest programs.

It certainly looks like a nice package. Definitely designed to convert more of the iPod faithful into Mac faithful (especially aesthetically) ... ;D
For users who need power, the iMac isn't the right pick, but imagine how awesome it would be to only have a single power cord on your desk -- thanks to a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse, 802.11 networking, the all-in-one form factor, even Airport Express for wireless music. Slick.
Somehow, all these cables pop out of nowhere; I just moved last week, and there are already a dozen cables under my desk for "the essentials." ???

Well, that was what I was thinking. An iMac with a G5 processor? Wow! That is quite an achievement. And on top of that you can get the ones with a 20 inches monitor. That is very dreamy.
I thought you were probably referring to the unreal thing as not functioning as the power mac, or anything like that.

3 Years ago I bought a G4 tower and the sole reason being because I was told I could not upgrade an imac. However, I have not upgraded my computer. I wish I would have bought the imac. Its cheaper and comes with a flat panel monitor. Unless you have big plans for upgrading or are doing extensive things on your computer (In my opinion) the imac is a much better deal.

I agree with you. And that is why I bought the iMac instead of the PowerMac.
I have never upgraded my iMac. I bought external firewire hard-drives, M-Box for music, etc...
If you are capturing a lot of uncompressed footage, then you go for the PowerMac and you buy a capture card. Otherwise, just stick to an iMac, because you can still edit HD on it.
