iMac 2.5ghz vs 2.7 vs mini? My MBP just died!

So my 2006 MBP just kicked the bucket I think. Deciding between the two 21" iMac options. Is the extra ghz worth the extra $300. Money is tight and I'll be spending money to recover or fix my MBP. But don't wanna skip on $300 if it's worth it. Video editing with fcp7, fcpx, premiere and converting and all that jazz

Another option is to go with the macmini with 2.7 Corei7 for $1000. But the graphics card isn't as good

I know there's a question in there somewhere even though I don't see a "?"! Thing is, you don't present the GHTZ difference here for anyone to comment on. The thing to remember is RAM. RAM trumps bout anything. I'd gladly give up the GHTZ for RAM.

One huge advantage of the minimac is your not stuck with the cruddy iMac monitor.

Well, first, wait until tomorrow (Tues. 10/23). Apple is announcing new stuff, and rumors are out about updated iMacs. They haven't been updated since last summer, so it's time.
