I'm so Bummed

Re: I'm so Bummed

That crossed my mind. It does sound absurd "a dubbed version?". I hop he's just trippin.

Re: I'm so Bummed

it might work out though..if he does the fu thing, maybe it will let him think more about the bastard movie. so by the time hes done with the fu film...bastard is ready to go.

Re: I'm so Bummed

lets see if he goes too far...I hope he goes more martial arts than in kill bill...compared to classics, it was slow...bloody...but slow...

I'm a big gamer and they've WWII games to death...it's in about 12 games this year alone...

Guys, not a big war movie fan here, but what are you guys looking forward to in a WWII film?

Re: I'm so Bummed

Good question Phil

I am a gamer (WW2) and a huge fan of WW2 films and the history of it.  I feel its the last war that really meant something.  Love SPR, loved Band of Brothers, love The Longest Day and the Navarone films and on and on and on...

My WW2 film has to have epic battles of course.  Real, bloody, combat.  But I want characters.  I want to see the training and relationships built and then torn away.  I want to see the GI's in the trenches and can only imagine how QT will do this.

I hated Pearl Harbor.  What a waste and disrespectful adaption.  My favorite theatre is the European campaign.  The whole Nazi domination and treatment of the Jews and the invasion of Russia and Britain being bombed is just insane.

I want to see not only GI's (airborne paratroopers) but the Canadian and British forces and the French resistance.  I want to see the fall of the Nazi Empire.

Im rambling.

Re: I'm so Bummed

Give him a chance, the martial arts dubbed movie may b good. Well see, Tarantino is krazy though. ;D

Damn...I see what you're saying...that would be interesting...Now I'm bummed!

You're saying it's not about the violence or the war itself, it's the people involved, I've never thought about it that way.

Re: I'm so Bummed

Doesn't surprise me that QT wants to do an out of sync dubbed Fu film. On the KILL BILL Vol. 2 DVD there's a deleted out of sync Samurai scene with Bill and a black assasin.

Just had this thought of a scene in Inglorious Bastards. Michael Madsen captured and tortured by Nazis. They cut off his right ear while KB's super sounds of the forties plays in the background.  ;D

**OFF TOPIC THREAD HIJACKING**

Just noticed that a couple headlines below the article there's another headline about a long lost Ed Wood film that was recently rediscovered.

It looks so bad that it's good.

Re: I'm so Bummed

I'm pissed about this, too. I was even looking forward to Adam Sandler's performance! Kill Bill was QT's chance to be indulgent, and it seems he wants to continue making indulgent movies. Whatever happened to the surprising amount of constraint he showed in the brilliant Jackie Brown? (I loved Kill Bill, by the way, but not enough that I want to see him make it again.)

And yeah, Pearl Harbor was a mess. It was pretty, but it was a complete mess.

Re: I'm so Bummed

Pearl Harbor was very pretty but without any substance. I agree Phil. Why indulge with another Martial Arts film? He just did 2 of them BACK TO BACK.

I hear ya brother.

If what you said above is true, did you enjoy the Call of Duty series? I love jumping into a game of that after watching Band of Brothers.

Re: I'm so Bummed

as quoted in "Team America"

"Pearl Harbor Sucked"

and that is being kind to it. It was more like a Damn Insult to anyone who was actually there.
