cool little "title"
For some reason that other thread got closed, but physically, I'm okay and uh, no, I'm not pregnant and I could have saved them the trouble of the test if someone had just 'asked' me.

So, to answer that insurance question, nope, no insurance and since I am living off my savings, having done so for a year, I should be able to get the entire bill canceled on some sort of hardship application. In Santa Cruz, if you didn't have insurance, they cut your bill in half if you can pay for it within 30 days, but here in Santa Monica, don't see that same clause.

The average wait in the hospital now seems to be the same, around 3-4 hours before you see a doctor. The problem is that there are many ER that are closing down, many emergency clinics, etc. all around the states. Health care is a huge issue here in the States, so I envy those of you who are covered in your countries.

I don't however envy some of your taxes.

My biggest complaint (other than the outrageous cost of health care) is the WAIT time. Unless you need urgent care - heart complications, bleeding; you sit in that waiting room, usually NO ONE comes out to see how you are doing, and you sit there in extreme pain until they put you in a room so you can sit there longer in extreme pain.

Back in the 80s my son required some stitches in the middle of the night (things always happen at night) and he was in and out within 2 hours and the waiting room was crowded. What has happened over the last 20 years to change that efficiency?
