I'm no MOD, but...

What is with all of these same posts? Right now it is 1:55 PST and I'm seeing three posts about curved tracks and a few others about 35mm adapters, can't we make one single post dedicated to 35mm adapters and one dedicated to dolly tracks in the DIY section?

Lets not forget the lastest reinvention of the dolly.

They all want to be the first to invent an old invention, again.

What's it matter?

Does it really take that long to go through a thread? I say, no use in making a mountain out of a molehill.

It makes the forums way easier to navigate and read when things are a little organized and consolidated. I've noticed that the better internet forums don't allow twenty threads about the same topic because it doesn't make sense to allow it.

Not that we should complain about such a great forum, but it does seem like an easy fix.

Limehouse understands the problem as the rest of us do.

If there's already a "curved track" thread etc, post there. You don't need another post to say pretty much the same thing.

And it is an easy fix.

It's called common sense.

Yep. No sense in reinventing the wheel...

Oh. Wait a a sec. I kinda like my cast aluminum ones. Much nicer than those old carved-stone wheels.

So maybe people should take second looks, now and again.

I'm just saying that posts about extremely popular topics could be placed into a megathread instead of tons of smaller, fragmented threads. If anything, I would imagine it would draw more viewers to each person's posts. This concept has been tested and proven in tons of other online communities.

hmmm....i think I like it better this way. I hate browsing through threads that have 142 pages.

This way, the good ones stick around for a while, those lacking in useful content fall off after 2 days (with the settings I use) because of inactivity.

It is odd, however, when we get the same-subject bunches...

I also prefer many smaller threads -- but with more descriptive titles.

Larger threads tend to branch off into several different ongoing conversations which quickly become unweildy.

I agree with Gen and Mark totally. I don't feel like getting home at 8 o'clock and having to dig through 20 different threads to find an answer. We like stating the problems/situations, and, evidently, people like answering them, regardless of how many already exist. Correct? And honestly, what's so irritating about having multiple threads?
