I just installed a Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor card and all the software on my PC. I conneected an exernal monitor in HDMI to the Deklink card. I use Premiere CS5. Now I'm lost. How do I get the playback to show up on the external monitor? Thank you.

Make sure the Decklink is sending a signal first - ie, before you choose any other programs, use the bundled decklink software and an image or clip to your connected screen.

Make sure your drivers are up to date and run Blackmagic Media Express to send video to your screen.

This way, you're at least checking the signal path is correct first :)

Then you can start looking into the CS5.5 output (when you know the Decklink is working).

The Deckling comes with various pieces of Software and it is totally unclear as to what each software does and which software is really necessary.

These are the Blackmagic programs currently installed on my computer. Don't ask. I have no idea what they do.

ATEM SWITCHERS
AUDIO MONITOR SOFTWARE UPDATE
CONVERTER UTILITY
HYPER DECK
SMART VIEW TILITY
ULTRASOPE
VIDEOHUB

With your card (or via the install procedure) you should have this as part of your software.

This is BM's own software, and will allow you to test the card easily.

Some of the software you've linked isn't part of the Decklink Mini Monitor, which is a playback device only. The link for what should be installed with your card is here http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/au/products/decklink/techspecs#35423

I think you might have installed other Blackmagic software?

Yes, the problem is much more perverted than I thought. I called the Blackmagic support and they told me their cards are not compatible with all motherboards. They have a compatibility list which is never mentionned anwhere on their website or on the box. This means I wasted 130 Euros on a product I can't use. They really pissed me off. Imagine if I had bought a 500 Euros card. They just lost a Customer. I am never buying from them again... and that includes any card, camera or software they might throw at us. In a way they did me a favor. I did not know whether to buy a Blackmagic Movie Camera or a Canon C300/100. They just made the choice easy. Bye bye Blackmagic.

What are you talking about?

They have a pretty good support area on their website.

If you failed to do any research before you made your purchase, it's Not Blackmagic Design's fault!
